Topic: Hokusai and Youkai
Hokusai lived in Edo period, who is probably the most well-known Japanese artist worldwide. Besides his fine paintings, he also produced Hokusai Manga, including works on Youkai. It is known among the traditional Japanese folk beliefs that Youkai is strange phenomena which is beyond our comprehension, or the power that causes the phenomena which cannot be explained by science. Hokusai and other artists in Edo period keep inspiring the modern-day cartoonists and anime producers. This brief presentation will try to introduce you to some popular Youkai.
