Dear Members and Friends,
As we collect the autumn leaves and begin to prepare for the holidays, we wanted to give our sincere thanks
for your support during the Pandemic and to also remind you of renewing your JSGH membership for 2023!
We have engaged in un-be-leaf-ably fun activities this year:
The Hanami picnic at the Gillette Castle state park, Onigiri (rice ball) cooking class at the Farmington library,
West Hartford walk at the Trout Brook Trail, the 7 th Annual Japan Summer Festival, End of Summer Picnic at
the J.B. Williams Park in Glastonbury and the October Nihongo Night featuring 3D Printing.
Big thank you to all our volunteers for making these activities possible.
On top of that, the New York Bus trip has returned and is coming up on Dec. 3rd. We have only few seats
remaining, so if you have not registered yet, but still interested, please email us at contact@jsofgh.org.
Our Japanese Language Classes has successfully completed 3 semesters. By offering virtual courses, we
made new friends, who we would not have met otherwise. We are very fortunate to have dedicated teachers
in JSGH.
And now, the long-awaited New Year’s party, is back! It will be on Jan. 22, 2023 (Year of the Rabbit) at the
Glastonbury Riverfront Community Center. Join us for an afternoon of live fun & laughter! We will have
authentic Shishimai (Lion dance), all-time-favorite Mochi-tsuki (mochi pounding), peaceful Koto & flute music,
Silent Auction, and more!
We are happy to grow stronger together, as we continue to share Japanese traditions and culture to our
community. Thank you so much for your loyalty, this year and always.

長〜いパンデミックがようやっと終わりコロナ前の状態に近づいてきた今日この頃ですが、会員・会友の皆さ
まは如何お過ごしでしょうか？ 2023年の声を聞いてまたまた会費納入願いのお手紙を差し上げております
。
JSGHでは本年はお花見パーティー、ピクニック、3年ぶりの夏祭り他に加えてNew Yorkへのバス旅行も復活し
ましたし、オンライン日本語学校は遠くにお住まいの方のご参加もあり、コロナの数少ない良かったことの一
つでもありました。そうして来たる１月22日の新年会には餅つき・獅子舞い、加えて格調高いお正月らしい
お琴とフルートの演奏を予定、お正月気分を十分お楽しみいただけると思います。23年では桜の植樹も続け
る所存ですし、夏祭りもより充実したものにしたいと気力満々のボランテイア係一同です。
